Cantarana - Our hotel - Your Good Vibes Island

Our small, smart Hotel & Restaurant Cantarana is situated in the Northwest of Costa Rica on the peninsula in the Bay of Tamarindo. We are bordering directly on the Marino Las Baulas National Park, just 100m from the almost deserted beach of Playa Grande. During the nights of November to March the Leatherback Turtles come ashore to lay their precious eggs in the sand.

In our beautiful double rooms & tropical garden you will find tranquility & relaxation in soothing seclusion.

Hotel Cantarana was all fixed up & re-opened April 1st, 2009 under new German management. Temporarily it is run as B&B until our new Chef arrives at the end of October. Until then we offer special prices to our guests at Restaurant Los Malinches, just around the corner. We will do our best to make your holiday a pleasantly unforgettable one.

A Room - A Space for Rest & Relaxation

We have beautiful double rooms in our well-cultivated tropical garden. From your private terrace you have a view of the pool. The rooms are all equipped with shower, air conditioning, ceiling fan, cable TV, mini-bar & room safe and have orthopaedic queen-sized or twin-sized beds, for comfortable, relaxing sleep.

We have two (2) other comfortable double rooms in a very nice bungalow with a large patio just 300m away from the hotel, nearer to the estuary and its mangrove between Playa Grande & Tamarindo. Both tastefully furnished rooms have separate entrances, with orthopaedic Queen-sized beds, shower, air-conditioning, mini-bar and room safe. The pool at the hotel is free to be used by our bungalow guests.

Mornings at Hotel Cantarana begin with a luxurious breakfast of pastries & and other goodies – to make you fit for a long day of touring or just relaxing on the beach! Choose from a nice selection of tropical marmalades, freshly squeezed juices & fruit plates made from the sweetest tropical fruits!

Restaurant Los Malinches, located just 200 m away from Hotel Cantarana, offers local Costa Rican dishes under its high, cool, palm-thatched roof – & from what's been said – the "best Pizza in Costa Rica!" Friday evenings are dedicated to an extraordinary BBQ. Our hotel guests get a 20% discount for eating & drinking until the end of October, when the new Chef of Restaurant Cantarana will have arrived. We try to keep our Restaurant the best in the region.
