Costa Rica celebrates the Annexation of Guanacaste throughout the country with traditional dance, music bullfights and rodeos. The day commemorates Guanacaste's 1824 decision to become a part of Costa Rica instead of Nicaragua. This is an official Costa Rica holiday.
