In an open invitation issued to the public, Biologist Corelle Carmen
Gutierrez, Evironmental Education Program Coordinator for the Park,
indicates that more than 200 children from 7 local schools are
anticipated to attend. Many activities are intended to educate these
children not only of the importance of the turtles to the canton, but
also of other ecosystems in this protected marine area. Activities
include folklore, drama, puppets, exhibits, masquerades, dances and
more.
Donations to provide food and beverage for the children are gladly accepted.
The festival will take place February 28, 2009.
